New Series: The Neighbor’s Club

The first book in The Neighbor’s Club series, also known as The NC, is Holly Lake Christmas. An entire new cast of characters, in a new town, with new goals. The Neighbor’s Club is a community women’s club. They hold bake sales twice a year to buy coats for kids. They grow a huge garden and donate the produce to the mission downtown. The big event of the year is the Christmas Craft Show. All proceeds go to purchase lovely new baby packs for their local hospitals. Every new mother receives a beautiful gift pack containing needful things for their new little one.

Meet the ladies – Karalee, the new president of The NC, Jewelle the treasurer and Melody the secretary. Maisey heads up the craft show.

The story begins with the first meeting of the new year, which runs from September to September. Traditionally a women’s club, in this first meeting they are surprised to find a man sitting in the back row. The story follows each woman, their family and home life, and how they encounter various difficulties and joys, and the changes that come from those events. I don’t want to give away details … but there are tears, and laughter and surprises.

The Spring Street Quilters Series

By being open to what God has shown them, this Christian quilting group comprised of 7 women make a huge difference in the lives of their neighbors, changing both the givers and the takers.

You need to read this book if you’ve ever wondered if God works personally in our lives – who do I mean by ‘our’? Women like me – a wife and mother, homemaker, dinner-fixer and laundry-doer. Do you love quilting or sewing like I do? God has given us that love for fabric and quilts, and we can use this gift to bless other people in our lives.

Morningshine takes that idea to a new level. Seven women, just like us, go on a God adventure right on their own front porch. Lives are changed and that’s when things begin to happen. You can join in the adventure today!

Once a week, seven women meet and make quilts. They visit and share their lives with each other. Every one of them has their own set of problems and blessings at home. Carrie, the unofficial leader of the group is burdened by a secret she’s kept from her husband for over twenty years. Eleanor is a timid woman and rarely says anything but her needle flashes with the best of them. Lydia is the first in the group to become involved with the Internet. Connie, whose marriage suddenly doesn’t seem so secure anymore. Sisters Martha and Esther, both widows, but they both have different ideas about how they want to live out the rest of their lives. Gert, a cantankerous woman with strong opinions that back her into a corner she can’t get out of with grace.

They are all Christians, but their Christian lives have never been lived out loud, in front of each other before. When God begins answering the prayers of a mother, hundreds of miles away, He uses all of these ladies. At the end of their street lives a dysfunctional family, trapped in poverty, drug and alcohol abuse.

As God moves in the hearts of these quilting women, things in that little house at the end of the street begin to change. At the same time, circumstances in their own lives change, but God is there with each of them, comforting, encouraging, giving grace and walking beside every one of them.

In their quilting they find opportunity to minister and bless others.

After you finish Morningshine, continue on the journey with Morning Glory, the second book in the series. Then, Morning of Grace wraps up the story with many surprises.

Join me, won’t you? 🙂 Consider this your formal and personal invitation to join the thousands of other women who’ve fallen in love with all the ladies living on Spring Street.

As life is hard to predict, so too are the characters in this third and final book of the Spring Street Quilters series. The quilters continue the work begun in their neighborhood. Surprises wait around every corner.
This small group of ladies is more than a neighborhood quilting group. They are a small family, helping each other and others in love. God has more in store for the Spring Street Quilters as He uses them to set up quiet miracles across the neighborhood.
This third book is a must read to find out what happens to your favorite quilter!
